Each week, tvN’s ranking show “The List” dishes out some surprising trivia on your favorite stars — this week it’s all about famous icons that were overlooked by some of the country’s biggest agencies early in their careers.

Of course, it’s impossible to tell exactly how famous someone will become, but it’s interesting to think about the entirely different lives they could have lead. Can you imagine CL as a JYP girl group member or Park Bo Gum as a K-Pop star instead of an actor!

Get ready to have your mind bent by all of the possibilities in this episode of “What Could Have Been–K-Pop edition.”

Ranking at #4, CL originally joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee with help from her dance school connections, training with idols like Sunye of Wonder Girls and Jung Hana of Secret. However, since she was a longtime fan of Teddy, a famous producer for YG, she ultimately decided to audition for them instead… and the rest is history! She then debuted in 2009 with the group 2NE1 and has been sitting at the apex of K-pop stardom ever since.

Speaking of YG, G-Dragon also made the list at rank #2 as a former SM Entertainment trainee before his meteoric rise to fame as Big Bang’s leader and producer.

For five years, G-Dragon trained under SM entertainment after catching the attention of Lee Soo Man during a dance competition that G-Dragon had entered while vacationing on a trip with his family. However during his trainee days, he could not find a clear direction in which to go until he “accidentally discovered” his love for hip-hop while listening to the Wu-Tang Clan’s music at a friend’s house.

He then started taking lessons in freestyle rap and placed himself under the tutelage of YG entertainment for six years leading up to his debut with fellow Big Bang members Taeyang, T.O.P, Daesung, and Seungri!
